    George,
I have an SP-300 which I think in many respects is similar to the bigger machine, the offset on mine is set at 0.225mm

    Hi George,

I am curious to see how you got when using the cut only feature on the 540 machine….

I have attempted it numerous times with no success.

The machine has been out either left or right by at least a couple of mm every time..

I have given up on it now.

    Darren.

    George,

I have had a look at the calibration.

I used the cut only feature when I was printing car stickers for the inside of the windows. Printed the stickers in reverse on clear vinyl, then flooded the print with a white vinyl. My problems start when I put the sheet back into the machine to cut these out. The machine reads the registration marks and then starts to cut…..Badly!!

For example, If I am doing a circular sticker, the cut will always be off hence it will cut inside the sticker outline and hey presto …stickers ruined!!

    Very frustrating..
    Darren.

    Darren,

You could try changing the pinch rollers.

We had the same problem but since changing the outside pinch rollers it has been cutting alot more accurately.

I have done quiet a bit of cutting on my sp540i and have never touched any calibration settings since getting it a few months back and cuts perfectly, the attached fish was 1180mm top to bottom, the crown was done separately and it was spot on.

I do however have issued with laminated prints, I can never weed it easily and battle to get a perfect cut depth no matter how high I go with pressure and that’s even on a new blade, I know it’s just me but can’t figure it out 😕

    cheers

    Warren
