  • Curtain sider vinyls?

Posted by Philip Houston on 17 November 2009 at 11:33

    Hi!
I’ve been asked to apply graphics to a curtain sider.
Some of it to be a printed tone on my roland.
Can the print be protected by laminate of sealed with a spray?

What medium should I use for this job?

    Help/advise very welcome.

    Philip

I’m sure Spandex do a material for this but be prepared to pay a hefty price.

We printed some APA about four years ago. I can’t remember what laminate we put on it though.

Still looked good the last I saw it. 😀

    Thanks guys!
    Great job once again.
I’ve contacted James from APASPA in England somewhere & have placed an order.
    Thanks again.

PS. When printing on the APA truck vinyl can it be laminated or sealed somehow?

Sorry, didn’t I make it clear?

Yes, you can laminate and, in fact, I think it is compulsory because trucks get wiped down trees and all sorts of abuse, so a bare print won’t last very long at all.

I can’t remember exactly which laminate we used, but it will have been an ordinary calendered Avery or MacTac one, whatever we were using at the time. That’s ok because although you need truck vinyl to stick to the curtain, the laminate is going onto the print vinyl (well, the ink actually) so an ordinary laminate will work.
