    Hi there im trying to create a background for example England in red with full white background so the red stands out and is outlined to the englan but its not like front/minus back.

    Hi Glenn ithanks for asking. Say i got a white square then i put england in letters on top how do i make the white follow the england rather than being a square.

    Hi Paul

    If were on the same wave length, just simply put an outline around the text at desired thickness and colour.

    Maybe Effects>PowerClip is what you’re after?

    PowerClip allows you to take a background and put it inside another object so it creates the appearance of a cutout.

    I think Tony is right, Powerclip I think is what you’re after.
    Create your flag (Grouping the objects it may help)
    Put text over flag
    Select flag
    Effects – Power Clip – Place inside container
    cursor will turn into arrow
    Place pointer inside text letter and left click
    Lettering will now be filled with background. right clicking afterward will give a pop up with some other options for future editing
