What software are you using as there is various ways to achieve this.

Corel and Illustrator just apply a transparency layer on the grouped cluster of names.

Photoshop: reduce opacity on same layer.

    etc…

In Corel, I type out ©JillsCustomSigns2010
(to get the © hold down your Alt key and type 0 1 6 9 on your number pad)
Convert to curves, make it a light blue.
Stretch it to make it as big as your design is wide.
Then using the interactive transparency tool I make it as light as I’d like while still being visible.
Move it overtop of the layout.
Then I double click on it and skew it so it covers the whole design diagonally.
Then export as a jpg. not a very hi-rez one only about 72 dpi.
    Love….Jill

    I use this watermarking program

    http://www.aoaophoto.com/

It can save templates for different styles and settings and will do batch watermarking.
