Has anybody else experienced a crashing phenomenon in X4 particularly when closing files? Sometimes this results in the file not saving properly if you chose to save on exit and always looses files open at the same time. I also have problems with crashing when opening certain files that other PCs on the network open with no problems.

This started sporadically at first but is now happening on a regular basis, as much as 2-3 times on a bad day. While like most sign makers I admit that my files are sometimes large, the fact that this is starting to get worse is worrying as I had similar problems with X3 shortly before upgrading.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled within the last month to try to cure this problem, without any effect whatsoever. I know that the desktop can get spooked and cause problems but I would have thought a complete reinstall including rebuilding the desktop would have solved this. I have installed the Mimaki Finecut desktop and use a variation of this but the problem is the same.

    Any clues???

    Version 14.0.0.701

I have tried to see if there are any further updates available but drawn a blank.

701 is the latest, do you still get this after a F8 restart. I know you’ve reinstalled but try F8 anyway. Are you finding this happening to any particular sort of file ie text on path, objects on desktop and not layer 1, do you use styles? etc. If you successfully open a file problem file from F8 restart, export as cmx – import that and save with different file name and see if the problem is sorted.
