have this little symbol in the fill button, any ideas as it prints a different colour!

It means that colour is set to overfill. Any object under that colour will not knockout when separated. You can add overfill to fill – fill and outline – outline only. Right click on object and choose from selection.
There is also a selection when printing to always overprint black but with some jobs this can cause more problems than it saves.

To add, in X3 and X4 set view to ‘enhanced with overprint’ and you can see the effects this will have. If you use spot colours alot you can simulate additional colours in your work by overprinting.

Thank you so much, used the object manager and enabled bitmap to print, looks like it sorted this way too.
