Converting to Vectors
I have a black drawing that I have scanned into the computer and would like to know how I can change it into a vector so I can plot it. I have seen the vector section of the site but would really like to try and do it myself. Its only for a bit of fun and I have photoshop CS 2 and corel draw 12.

Depending on how intricate it is best bet would be to trace the jpeg pic in Corel to get a vector graphic then try and smooth the edges as best as you can then colour it white and apply a black outline to cut out the vinyl.
Well thats how I’d make a start anyway.

Do you have Adobe CS2 Creative Suite? If so, as well as Photoshop you should have Illustrator – that has a nifty ‘live paint’ feature which is pretty accurate (depending on how good the original is).
Not sure about Corel – sorry!

dont trace it yet !
use the thingy tool, 4th one down, and make a series of connected lines around the object, then using the other thingy tool, 2nd one down, right click on the line, click curve…. then manipulate !
