Contracts to supply work?
Hey guys
I’m just doing a little bit of research as to whether other sign makers get contracts signed over lengthy periods or just for one off jobs.
I’m trying to sort out my paperwork so i can progress with getting larger clients but at the moment i tend to deal with sole traders to very small companies and they tend to be startups.
Currently i’m getting proofs signed for those individual items, it says nothing about price, it just states that the design is right and to go ahead, price is worked out via a quote and all they have is a short paragraph at the bottom stating that items must be paid in full otherwise the item still belongs to me, 50% needs paying upfront before work will begin etc, nothing major, just basic stuff but i’m starting to think i’m not doing it right.
I would like to start applying for clients like the local school / council / medium sized businesses etc and although i don’t think i’m capable yet, i want to put the ground work in now ready for when i am.
Any help would be appreciated.
