  • construction info please for making estate boards?

We have only ever provided a few single sided boards but we are now being asked to quote for double sided boards with posts.

Has anyone any experience on construction? is it simply providing 2 x fluted boards for either side of the post or can you buy double with access to slip the post into?

I would normally charge £7.50 for a single board, any ideas on prices for a double and post?

    thanks, any help is appreciated.

    regards

    Ryan

    Hi,
1 x correx board printed 2 sides. You will probably need 2 different artworks for front and back. Leave about 100mm unprinted to one side, this is for fixing to the post.
1 x post routed with slot at the top. The board is pushed into the slot, about 100mm and held in place with 2 screws or bolts.
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks John,

would you say £7.95 ish is ball park for the board or are we way off base?

Always find it a lot easier to quote for larger items than the smaller.

    Ryan,

Normal working sizes for the fluted material are 610mm x 813mm with the flutes running along the 813mm (1050gsm)

Your visible size of the board is 610mm x 760mm giving you about 53mm to slot into your 2″ x 2″ post.

In most cases the image is exactly the same on both sides but as John has pointed out if the image is “handed” in any way you would need two artworks.

You should also consider a stake & a couple of support straps if you want to do the job properly

was thinking of offering them the stake and tie wrap option as well as the post as discussed.

Trouble with the stake is that i would assume it would have to sit centre on, so the rear view would offer an obscured view.

They want prices for bulk order and singles but to be honest its new territory as we normally focus on vehicle, fascia’s and corporate stuff.

The price seems fair but if screen printing them it would all depend on how many colours and qty and if the artwork was same both sides.

I did 40 last year, 3 colours 2 sides with bleed (for sale and sold) different artwork both sides and if I can remeber right it worked out to be about
4 – 6 screens and they had to be cut by hand afterwards. Nightmare of a job so I priced accordingly. I hear he gets them digitally printed now and saves a fortune.

Digital seems to be the way forward for sale boards.

    Cheers John
