Compatible inks Mimaki CJV warranty Advice?
I bought a Mimaki CJV150 at the beginning of the year.
I seem to be using a lot more ink than what I used to with my Roland. (Busier, so to be expected)
But at £96/cart – I’m contemplating, but unsure, on getting compatible inks.
I have 3 years warranty with the machine, so therefore very sceptical.
What would y’all do?
At £48/ cart, it’s very tempting
All advice is wanted, but please don’t be biased 🙂

Back when I used to use compatibles for the Canon IPF range and they were crazy prices at £200 quid a cartridge I purchased some compatibles.
It blocked the heads and I burned out two heads trying to clear the blockages.
I pay the £70 with a smile
Now days for the Roland’s. I adjust my prices to include the prices of the ink costs and cost rises.But I have read on the boards lots of success with compatibles which i have never had the courage to try again.

Yeah I see a few rate Nazdar, but their prices are MUCH cheaper, not worth the price difference.
I charge enough to make it feasible to buy genuines, but my mate makes inks for a living and has told me I’m paying for the brand and that’s it, they are pretty much pulling down my pants.

Our Mimaki 3 year warranty ran out in the summer, after some research we decided to go with Atlantic Tech inks, and have not noticed any difference in quality / colour. Stafford is your man on here.
But as your machine is in warranty a would suggest you stay branded.
Are you using SS21 or SPC? -

How has it been in terms of reliability?
And how does it go if you need an engineer? Do you pop in some new genuines? Or have they clocked onto that?
Being honest, I’m trying to sell it to myself to co compatible, but the fear is stopping me [emoji25]

If your paying £96 per cart for SS21 then you need to look at changing supplier.

As soon as the warranty ran out on our Roland sp540v we switched to JETBEST inks.
That was more than 8 years ago.
There was no difference in the print, and we were still running the original heads until a few months ago, which is a pretty good run for a busy machine.
The only drawback is our machine doesn’t recognise the chip on the cartridge, so we just swap it for the old one when we change. -
We went over to jet best from Colourmill 3 months after having our mimaki cjv
The printer has to be over 7 years old, we are still on our original head. Replaced dampers, seat etc.
We use bulk ink system, 500ml
