  • Coloured DryWipe / Magnetic Boards

    Posted by AaSk4Stickers on 9 January 2004 at 12:49

Slightly different to previous threads on white boards.

I am looking to produce some dry wipe boards that have a white top and bottom border with vinyl text and images but will mainly consist of four different coloured areas.

The coloured areas need to be written on with dry-wipe pens and have a magnetic capability.

If there is a transparent dry-wipe vinyl out there that I can overlay I won’t have a problem.

Any ideas on the existence of such a film or any other suggestions?

    Regards

    Alan

This may be of help but not much. When I was working for Fineline (Autac) we did stock a clear dry wipe vinyl. I don’t know who made it but it was either KPMF, Mactac or Avery as these were the ranges we sold.

(In case you don’t know, Fineline (Autac) no longer exist.)

    Hiya

Thanks for that – I see that Hexis have one at £8 a metre (1 metre wide).

Anyone had any experience of this type of thing? i.e. applying dry wipe vinyl over the top of coloured vinyl?

    Cheers

    Alan,

I can’t find a clear dry wipe in the Hexis catalogue – what page is it on ?

I have used antigraffitti clear film for making dry wipe areas before and it seems to work OK. Its not totally clear (kind of slight milkyness) but you don’t really notice it much.

It’s on Page 54, headed “Drywipe and Chalkboard” in my 2002 catalogue. Ist entry has three items on the line, Dry Wipe White, Chalkboard and Dry Wipe Clear.

    Cheers

Thanks Alan, I guess I must need to get some new glasses 😮

Sounds like the best stuff to use then – if you look at the white drywipe vinyl it appears to be a clear film laminated over white base anyway, so might be the same stuff but minus the white base ??
