  • Colour fade/drop out with solid colours – SC545EX help?

    Hi All

Hoping you’re all well and nice and busy !

Was just wondering if anyone has had issues printing some solid colours ?

Mine will print fine for about 3 inches then the colour will fade slightly for about an inch then the colour will come back again for 3 inches and so on and then fade for an inch. Naturally this produces an unattractive effect.

Head speed is on slow and on double pass, test print is fine, temperatures 40 and 40 for both bed and plate temperatures. (I’ve also tried lowering temperatures to 34 on each) Media is rolled out before going through the machine to avoid ‘tugging’.

I Have printed out several different coloured squares CMYK plus various other colours but on a 4 inch square there didn’t appear to be any problems

Machine has had new caps, dampers, head cables, wipers, sponges etc a couple of months ago and hasn’t had an excessive amount of of use since

Oh, using Roland SC545EX pro2 using Versaworks with EPS files.

    Any thoughts ?

    Cheers guys

Tweaked the calibration and this has helped slightly however I’m still getting this colour difference in both bi direction and uni directional printing (although more prominent on uni direction)

Anyone have any other thoughts as to what might be causing this ? Have uploaded another photo if this helps more

    Cheers guys
