Hi sorry if this has been asked before (I did search, honestly), but does anyone
know where I can buy the little foam roller that sits alongside the print head as mine has badly perished and are they easy to fit.

I’ve also looked at buying a new printhead before they are obsolete but can only find information on a site called tradett which for some reason won’t let me register.

    Thanks Steve

might still be worth asking roland its easy but fiddly to fit as the C clip is small and flyes wel.

keep meaning to start looking for a spare head myself.

might be worth trying PrintOne Carol… they might be able to advise on various things PC60 – 600 related.

Well I have managed to get a complete new printhead for 607 USD, around 386 sterling delivered from china, supposed to be original but will have to wait to find out. Had no joy with getting the roller though.
I rang Roland UK and was told they have no parts what so ever for the pc 60 and the best thing would be to rob parts from another broken machine.

I really don’t want to be putting this new head on yet or robbing it of its new roller but there don’t seem to be any other option.

B.t.w I know its been asked before but has anyone got a copy of the technical manual before I get my multimeter ready.

I’ve now found a source for print heads and the small roller that fits to the print head carriage.

The print head is from China and seems to be Roland original although I’m no expert and now-days its hard to tell. The total cost including 4 day shipping came to £390.00

The roller is coming from the states and although only 10 dollars shipping is 45 dollars, so i’ve bought a few.

I don’t think I’m allowed to advertise the suppliers but if you PM me I will reveal all.

steve i would pm you but you can’t reply. you need to be a member

is the head you received for a PC 60 or 600 they look the same but the set up it totally different.

last year i bought from china and it was a 100% genuine unit as i would have received from roland. and is serving well.
thought i would get a spare but they have sent a 600 one instead this time.
waiting for there reply at the moment.

    Hi Chris

I am now wondering if they have done the same with me.
There is no voltage sticker on the top of the head, just a blue
sticker with the number 4 on it.

I have been in contact and they have sent me the TEI file but will
not answer my mails concerning the head voltage.

How do I know if this is a PC600 head?

it a 600 head with just the No 4 on it.

is this our very friendly John by any chance.

i have explained the problem to him and awaiting a reply.

as i said the last one i had from them was just perfect

by the way the head will fit and will work on your last known settings but is not ideal and may not print well with some ribbons. a guy bought a pc 60 from ebay with a strange head in it turns out to have been a 600 one, i spent a couple of evenings on it and was printing well enough

    Yes, thats the chap.
Found him very helpful until I asked for the voltage settings.
Will email him again this evening.
    Many thanks

Oh btw I’ve managed to change the small roller, only dropped the tiny circlip once and found it instantly, must of been my lucky day.
