Just tried to help with this.
BS 4800 range of colours as per this link
http://www.unitedcomposites.net/jointpa … olours.htmConsists of 98 colours – but I can’t see ‘Nordic Blue’

Thanks for trying, we came to a compromise with the customer because we couldnt find the bs. We chose a colour that we thought it might be and as they didnt know what it was either they agreed to it! Bizarre really.

I know you have said that this problem is solved for now…
If your profiling is tight it’s always a nice idea to have some genuine pantone colour charts handy. There are process colour charts (not just the spot guide lots of people use) so a client could flip through, find something he or she enjoyed, and then you could read the process values at the bottom of each colour chip.
If that’s not a good solution because of the cost of the booklets you could print out a pantone chart on your media.

In the thread above there is a link to a really nice (and huge) pantone spot chart from Uniform. Once you have the closest spot identified you can look up the process colours (or simply convert the spot). The chart is also handy when clients walk in and would like to choose colours…

Thanks for the input, we have a pantone to process book which is invaluable for not only pantone colours but to colour match to process samples that are sent in.
The problem in this case was that the nordic blue in bs 4800 doesnt seem to exist, I nor any of my suppliers or any body on these boards could find no reference to it, also the customer although he specified the pantone colour had no idea what the colour was either. It was one of those cases of me putting lots of time in to find out when the customer wasnt really that bothered. Nordic blue for seem reason i thought light blue, tapped nordic blue into google and came up with a nordic blue t shirt on ebay and matched to that on screen. Like i said bizarre but the customer was over the moon with the end result!
