    Hope someone can help,

We’ve been asked to produce a brushed stainless steel sign but it needs
to include a clock. Does anyone know of anywhere where we can buy the
clock parts so that we can add it to the sign.

    Thanks in advance.

If you’re looking for a traditional ‘hands’ type clock mechanism (rather than a digital one) then try Smiths of Derby ( http://www.smithsofderby.co.uk ) – they supply all sorts of standard mechanisms.

I get my clock parts from AG Thomas http://www.agthomas.co.uk/. They have many types of movements including reverse, sweeping second and radio time signal synchronised. Not too bad for price either…..

Weatherproofing is simple….Order a suitable screw lid box from the likes of RS Spares or Maplin drill a hole in the centre of the base large enough for the spindle and place it between the back of the clock and the movement (ensuring the movement you order has a long enough spindle). Once assembled screw the lid on.
If you are still worried about water ingress, add silicone sealant between components and lightly coat the mechanisim spindle with molybdenum or lithium grease…….that should do the trick
