We currently use metamark md3 clear vinyl but we would like to source some clear vinyl with a clear backing rather than the current white backing.

We have a sample from the Mimaki stand they were using at sign uk on the JV33-160 (should have asked there ).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi There,

used to be the top end cast vinyls had a polyester backing sheet, this helped enhance the gloss levels, price is much higher, whats the end use?

Polyester backings are common on top end vinyls because the are completely impervious so offer better performance, particularly in high humidity situations.

I have also seen the clear vinyl and clear backing material that Hybrid use for the samples and demonstrations and it does seem to be a high quality product (why use anything else for a demo?) but I havent seen it for sale.

The main benefit Chris is that you can see a white backed clear decal much better on completely clear material, hence its us for demonstrating the white printing capabilities of the Mimaki range.

thanks colin, must admit it would be handy when doing window reversed stickers. instead of pulling one of to show people. (might re-phrase that).
in stead of having to remove one to show. 😀
