Clear application tape, options

I buy from amari and they also do clear application tape. if you call them i am sure they will send you a sample to try. It is good especially if you are doing drop shadows and stuff like that.

I tried some years ago but found it a bit stretchy and didn’t lay flat easily.
Perhaps the stuff is better now.
Not recommended for wet application or on cold windows though.
I have an offcut roll for doing the odd small piece on a layered or multi colour graphic but otherwise use Conform for everything.

Most suppliers do it but if I were you I would get a few samples from different suppliers as some seem to be a lot better than others. Hard to say which is best as it seems to be a personal thing so what suits one person might not suit yourself.

Spandex’s own Image Perfect range make the textured clear. It doesn’t shrink, curl or stretch like the standard clear stuff.

I’m using the R tape clear choice.
Seems Ok but it can stretch a little.

The main problem is using it in colder temperatures, you fit the app tape in the office and every-things fine, then you go out into a cold room to fit it and the clear shrinks a little but the paper doesn’t so you end up with it going a bit crinkled.
I’ve also found it can change the length of the vinyl being fitted, say a shadow to go over some lettering already fitted, I’ve found it can shorten the shadow.

And :lol1: it gets quite a static charge so it can be harder to fit to the cut vinyl, I usually lay it glue side up on my table and then roll the weeded vinyl onto it, seems to make things easier.
