  • Clarity Software – Is your POD system unstable?

Posted by Adrian Neill on 28 January 2016 at 14:40

    Afternoon Guys.

We’ve been running the Clarity Software system for a while now and would say on ‘the whole’ we’re pretty happy with it. We do run an unsupported system which as far as the package is concerned has worked for us quite well, but we’re obviously not running the latest version. The main problem we have is with the Proof Of Delivery (POD) system. We have always found it a tad unstable and have a fair number of jobs that never actually make it back to our server.

We’ve not been using the POD system for a while and have decided as we are being charged £15 a month that we should really get it sorted and running as we do like the idea of the photos and signatures arriving straight back at base. After a quick chat with Clarity we’re quite disappointed that we’ve been being charged for a while for a system that apparently won’t work as it’s out of date.

I suppose what i’d like to know is anyone else running an unsupported Clarity system and do you also have lots of problems with the POD system or does yours work okay …… or maybe you are running the latest version and still having problems?

    Hi Adrian

Any updates on this? I’m considering Clarity and this is also one feature I like and would want too use but would expect it to work 100%

Any other feedback would be greatly appreciated as currently reviewing.

    Thanks

    Warren

We run clarity, but not with the POD module.

Are you running version 4, or did you manage to upgrade to V5? We’re currently running V5.1.35, and overall it performs better than V4.

Clarity is good… but I do feel like they’re pulling your pant’s down when it comes to adding a module etc… not so much the monthly fee, but the extortionate fee’s to install it, and the ‘training’.

    Hi David and Warren.

We have since that post upgraded to the latest version, but Clarity have insisted that as we’re not willing to pay the massive monthly fee we are not allowed to run the POD system as apparently it needs ‘constant maintenance’ so have decided not to bother with it anymore. I do agree that the new version seems to be running nicely so far and do prefer the licenses assigned to the user rather than a PC as it was before.

Don’t get me wrong, Clarity is a good system, but as David said, they certainly do ‘pull your pants down’ when you start with the add-ons etc. With regards to the POD system itself …….. in theory it’s an amazing idea and ‘when it works’ it’s brilliant, but we found the system a bit hit-and-miss, which meant if the fitters hadn’t taken another photo of the install then you’d be without one.
