I am hoping someone could point me in the correct direction. The file is set up with its own cutline that showns up in the preview under the cut tab. This the only line on that layer in fact there is no line in that area on any other layer in the artwork. This layer is called cutline and when I open the Finecut software I make sure I change it from a print to cut.
Once the artwork has been printed through Rasterlink I let everything gas off and then proceed to cut. The machine then cuts the cutline in one direction but then starts the cut again from another point along the line, so cutting twice and going through the backing paper in some places.
    Hope that makes sense.

    Regards
    Iain

I will reply to my own question I think???
I have realised I created the box around the text to make the sticker as an object with an different coloured outline. I then used create outline to object, but for got to delete the original box, so the cutter is cutting the box and the outline as two separate items.

I spoke to soon!!!!! Now it wont even pick up the reg marks on another piece to cut. It reads 1 and 2 but the third it goes back and forth over the mark but does not read it and goes back the beginning and gives me an error code. This is in set up mode from the control panel. . In Rasterlink if I go to cut only the head moves about 2 mm and says error mark detect, it doesn’t even try to find them.

    God I am good!!
Got into another menu and set the machine to only read the 2 marks on the y axis ( RHS) of the print. In Rasterlink set the software toonly find the same two mark and then cut. So far so good.
    Fingers crossed..
