  • CIS System for 1290?

Posted by Andrew Daniel on 31 December 2005 at 01:59

Hi guys I have purchased a Epson 1290 and I need a CIS and ink to get me started, I have told a friend that I may be able to supply our rugby team for the summer with T-shirts and for other teams who are interesed. He then told a mutual friend that I can do it ‘now’.

This mutual friend is the bestman and organising a Stag Party and wants 20 T-shirts / Polo tops done by 25th Jan. And wants a price?

I have been looking at the different CIS available and they go for between £28 and £350+vat

What is the better CIS on the market. There are CIS systems on E-bay for £28 LINK or there is the Lyson Continuous Ink System for £149 + Vat then I need to find Ink. Or there is the Pre filled Epson 1290 Easy Flow Bulk Ink System for £349.95 from resmart, or a Artanium dye CIS & ink from thetransferpress for £350+vat

Too much to choose from and so little knowledge on the types 😥

I’ve the Artanium bulk system from The Transfer Press. The carts and tubes are prefilled so it’s just connect and go. Remember this system comes with the 6 bottles of ink. There are cheaper systems but I believe it’s a case of you get what you pay for.

Thanks Jim, I will order this straight away. It does look like a good set up and I also think “You get what you pay for” I’d rather spend the £350+vat 1st time round than the £100 that will give me poor results and a bad rep. And have to spend the £350+vat after.

    Thanks again Jim

    same system I use.

I have spent 2 years trying the other options, and they have all let me down at some point.

And when they go wrong it is always just as you are about to start an important job 😮

You definately get what you pay for in this case.
