Think people here mostly know already mate! :lol1: 😀 😀

Cracking site though. Makes you wonder what’s in it for them?

It is a handy site occasionally, however, I find most of the images on there to be be of very poor quality. Much tidying up needs to be done with most of them. In my experience.

On their main page there is a link to “advertising”. It has some prices on there for banners on their page.
Whenever I need something, I look there first. It seems to be the only place on the web of its type. I wonder how many people actually get the permission of the author/creator of the logos to use them…..

I suppose, strictly speaking, you should gain permission to use anything on there, but I would think that the very fact that you are using the logo means you are carrying out work for the company in question. No?

    Yes..and No.
There are some sports team logos and such on there that I am sure some people would use without permission. For the most part though I am sure it is used in an appropriate manner. Like most things though some people can use it in evil ways.

You’re right there Marek. I only use it for legitimate purposes and use the logos when requested by the customer in question, but I suppose it’s open to abuse. I think the site has been closed down once already and opened up under a different name. Probably due to copyright issues.

I find it an invaluable site , I do a huge amount of laser engraving and various branding of promo items and the biggest problem is to get artwork in a decent format for this from the client or promo house. Often its a real tedious affair , requiring to-and-froing from ad agencies , incorrect formats and worse. DLing it straight from the site is wonderful as 99/100 times its absolutely perfect and enables us to make a start on the job immediately or provide a sample brand within minutes!! I have also found that in terms of digital printing , most logos have the right colours and so forth.
I suppose anything is able to be abused , you could DL a logo off a internet site too (probably not as good a quality) and use it if you were so inclined.
Only hassle with the site is that its sometimes slow and obviously doesnt contain a lot of localised logos.
I know at one time there was a scheme afoot to set up an internet site that could be used to get ALL the specs on logos (We often get huge volumes on logos , with extremely specific sizes , colours and what can be used where etc) and this was to be sponsored by the big cos , specifically for those doing their work – Not sure if it ever came about or whether one had to pay to use it.

I’m the same Big G. Only use it for legitimate use. They have most of the australian government logo’s there which saves going thru government departments trying to get the right logo for the job. Dealing with governement depts here getting the appropriate logo is as much fun as pulling teeth, so getting them there saves a lot of grief.

I know that Landrover ordered the site to remove any of its logo’s from distribution, and I know that Coke are not happy about their logo’s being downloaded to the site. Both have strict controlls on their use.

I have authoriesed access to the Coke site myself, and they are very cautious about who uses what, but end of the day, no one has actually requested approval of the use of Coke logo in signage ever, so it makes me wonder why the tight controls.

    Cheers

Cool website, use it daily. Its great for logos, but often you can get inspiration for logo designs and stuff like that as well! 😀

    Cheers, Dewi

This one is quite useful sometimes, although not as thorough as BOTW it does include typeface references and colours, as well as links to all the owners’ websites.

Only slight problem is you need stuffit expander to unzip the files.
