Cheapest Supplier of Mirrored Silver Vinyl
Posted by Jonathan Wallace on June 14, 2010 at 9:12 amI am trying to source the cheapest supplier of mirrored vinyl. I am doing a job for a local business and they have a large fleet and are using us to do a one off customer contact car which will only be used for a weekend show then stripped. Graphitype have quoted me £7.50 pm at 610 wide. Any advances please.

We have some here which was bought for a similar job. We got it from Europoint(now Robert Horne). It is very thin and from what I remember cut and weeds shit, I wouldn’t want to use it for anything but temporary but I seem to remember it being sub £2/m when we bought it(about 4 years ago).
Just looked and there is no code on it though but it’s on a Oracol tube.
Cheers

I’d go for the good stuff (ours is made by Gerber)
The cheaper stuff cuts/weeds like crap and even the good stuff is very difficult to remove on its own, I’d back it up with a layer of cast underneath.

You could try Doro Tape in Market Harborough. They have a wide selection.

Try Signmaker’s Warehouse or Vinyl Corporation, they do both indoor and outdoor mirror. I used to use Spandex double sided chrome was really thin and a nightmare to weed but lasted for years. If you only have to have it for a weekend perhaps the thicker indoor (temporary outdoor) stuff will be easier to remove? If it is really thin apply over standard vinyl so you can get it off again 🙂

It’s going onto a car. I have since spoken to the guy and he may keep it on linger if it gets a good response from his customers.

Couple of choices, cheaper options may be a foil film and more than likely if going on for a while would need ‘edge sealing’, other option is a mirrored vinyl, depending on outdoor life (ours is 5 years) will decide what the buying price is.

OK getting the feeling that the mirrored stuff prob isn’t the best for the task at hand. Can anyone think of a vinyl that will give a similar shiny effect and the supplier of the said product?
