    Hi Folks

Hope someone might point me in the right direction? A car showroom I use needs some roof top signs supplied with various lettering applied. They have some, made from what looks like 4mm foamex panels, and I think have been die cut or routed into various shapes ie rectangular with rounded corners? They each have a cut out ‘tongue’ (for want of a better description!) approx 300mm x 20mm at the bottom of the shape, that slots into the box on the car roof and thus holds it in place. They could be handmade with a steady hand and sharp knife! However, because they look so uniform my guess is die cutting or stamping? I reckon there must be a supplier of this type of blank for the motor trade?

If anyone has come across this type of thing before, I would really appreciate being pointed in a suppliers direction? Thanks in advance

    Regards, Spooky

How about using one as a template & getting a router with a follower/cutter (roller bearing on end) – fine if your not making 1000’s of them. 20-30 seconds each.

    Thanks David

That might work. However, some of the angles on corners etc are quite sharp (ie the tongue is a rectangular shaped extension at the bottom of the board), so a fairly fine routing tool would be needed to keep them square as opposed to rounded? Still reckon there must be a supplier of these blanks that services the motor trade somewhere?

    cheers, Spooky
