Canvas Prints
Posted by Dermot Howard on 2 April 2009 at 19:40Hi.
I have been toying with the idea of setting up a website to a promote canvas printing service. Is there enough biz out to warrant setting it up?
What experiences have you had and how much can you charge fore it. I have been doing a small bit fore friends and family, getting good results too.Dermot Howard replied 16 years, 9 months ago 3 Members · 4 Replies -

similar to the banner idea Dermot, you need to actually research the market, and then decide if you want to compete, its easy enough to google companies that already provide this service, as a buyer would, but they usually specialise and are set up for quick production and turn around.

Hi Peter.
The same idea different product. I was thinking of offering a range of sizes and keeping it at that. You could like them up and do a print run in the evening with the days orders on it (being optimistic here!!) it would be a post out service, only dealing with clients over the net or phone and let pay pal take care of the money.I don’t have a visa machine but recently discovered if you have a pay pal account you can “sign in” and email some through PayPal to request a payment, they get a secure email, pay PayPal with their Visa and then you sign in to your account and send it to your bank account, via on line banking. Great system

Hi,
I would think long and hard before starting a canvas printing business, we’ve been in the canvas game for over 4 years now and its only getting tougher with Joe Blogs printing from his bedroom and selling for next to nothing…..I’ve been told by a number of our suppliers that we are regarded as one of the big boys in the game but long are the days when we used to make 30k a month from online sales be luck to see 10% of that and thats with nearly 60k worth of online marketing over the last three years…..Things are very hard in the canvas game….
If you want to sell canvas, sell it locally to people you know and build up a reputation that way….you can even charge a hell of alot more.

Hi Harpreet,
I just looked at your site, its great I was not thinking of anything as good as that. Also looked at your prices and understand what you are saying. I charged a friend €50 for your 16 x 24 at christmas and that was after a €20 discount. I think i will go local. Thanks again.
