  • Canon IPF8000S Issue Loading Poster Paper

We have a Canon IPF8000S which has developed a problem whereby it will not recognise normal poster paper when trying to load it. We have had to try and cheat it by taping a section of non tear paper at the front of the poster paper to try to fool the machine. This doesn’t always work and sometimes once you start printing it recognises the change in material and shows an error. We think it may be a sensor issue but not sure where to start, we have mentioned it to an engineer and he said he had never heard of this issue before. Any thoughts?

Probably best to speak to Velmex.

I used to work on the early iPF’s but got bitten by one and decided not to work on them any more. They are a notoriously difficult machine to repair.
