Hi, im looking to get my first laminator, nothing too crazy just to laminate up to 8 – 900 wide, digital prints and 3-5mm foamex/di-bond.
Ive seen all the large format laminators SEAL etc, however i keep seing desktop laminators which look like they would do the job apart from the laminate core size seems to look smaller on these and dont know if it would be compatable with Sign Laminate.
    Can anyone help?

Sort of makes i mean are D&K and GBC

Kind of hard to tell looking at the machines although some of them do state that they are for small print shops which would make them OK. They do seem to have quite a range of laminate which would be suitable.
Biggest problem I can see though is the machine might be a better price than some other makes but it looks like you would have to use their laminate which might be a lot more expensive than laminate you can buy else where making the cost of the machine much more expensive in the long run.

Largest desktop I have supplied is a 880mm, after that they jump to 1000mm plus and normally come with stands and if you think about it a desk with a 900mm laminator sitting on it would take up more space than one on a stand.
