I have recently bought a Creation PCut plotter and I am trying to get the pltdraw software that came with it to run.

It seems to want only operate in serial mode while Ive it connected with USB and there is no serial connection on the machine.

I would appreciate some guidance. My budget would not go any further and I want to use it to cut sandblasting stencils.

    Welcome Roy,

you might want to post a hello in the hello forum, so people can get an understanding of your experience.

First suggestion I’d make is to go back to your supplier for help. After sales service is pretty important at times like this. There are a few PCut owners here, though I’ve not heard of your software.

If anyone has the answer, I’m sure they’ll post an answer.

Where in Oz are you from? I’m based in Logan City SEQld.

    Hi Roy,
    I have a P-cut but I don’t know your software package.
Although my plotter is running perfectly now the initial installation was a bit of a pain…At the time I could not ring the supplier so I tried my IT-wise brother who got me sorted. I had to define ports in the in the device manager. Now I can’t remember all the details, but if you see any question marks under ports…. then that might be the problem…..
So I can’t be of much help really…….:( sorry
But I’ll symphatise with you 🙂
Shane’s advice is the best: contact your supplier.

I think the software is a throw away package that the manufacturers included with the machine.

Shane, I’m based in Birkdale…not to far away…I have been working down in Mackenzie for the last five years and have just been toldI have to move on…at 6t0 that isn’t so easy so I’m having to set up on my own.

Unfortunately I bought this machine off ebay and I can’t remember the supplier.

I have got it running with another programme but it doesn’t fully cut out the letters in that programme. That isn’t a major problem with big letters but I’m working fairly finely trying to create sandblasting stencils and with a’s e’s o’s A’s B’s O’s P’s Q’s not fully cutting it is causing me great deal of difficulty weeding. My hands are not as adept as they used to be I’ve almost lost the use of my thumbs and my eye sight is pretty poor. All in all I think it is my age creeping up on me.

I thought I’d give the programme that came with it a try.

I also have a Mimaki running FineCut software which is good…but my daughter drives that one and I’m stuck with the Creation Pcut.

It’s a port thing I know but it’s got me stumped at the moment.

Sorry for being so long winded.

I will post a hello in the appropriate place shortly.

    Regards

    Roy N.
