Chris, when you say racing stripes are you talking about the viper stripes which run along the bonnet, over the roof and down the back?

prices… not sure mate… ide really have to see car to visualise how long i think it would take to price. i say that because vinyl is not your expence here, its your time/labour.
here is one i did in past… not same car though…
http://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.p … ht=mustangide say 651 would be fine but i am honestly not sure on how the contours are so i would have to suggest 551, or even 751c.

I put two stripes on a mini bonnet not long ago think I charged £40 + VAT and I’m pretty sure I used 651 for that matter
Just added a picture of car I striped to Robs post

Have a search as the question has been asked before a couple of times, it’s not a difficult job and depending on where they are going (to one side, up the middle etc) you should find that the car is pretty flat so 651 would do. Personally I wouldn’t use it though, I always worry that it will shrink quite a bit over time as some cheaper vinyls do which leaves a nasty dirty looking mark all along the edge. If you use oracal vinyl I would say that 551 would be a better bet.
Not really sure about price but I think it was mentioned on another post.

I’ve done a few minis – and a good quality calendared vinyl works well.
Labour time is where the money is – I was about 2.5 hours doing the black one. Between removing the scuttle vents, a wiper arm, preparing the surface & doing the application – including that ultra fiddly rear splitter!
Tips? Tape the stripes as one piece, then you’ll get perfect spacing over the majority of the car. (Or Rob’s tip of a thin stripe then lay the wide ones either side). Then you will need to pull the individual stripes into the correct position on the bonnet as it dips & they converge near the badge. Working with sections about 4" longer than you need, wrap round any panels and DO remove the vents & passenger wiper arm and hole cover for a perfect non-split finish…and DO NOT knife through to the paintwork when trimming!!
If you are an Oracal fan – 651 would be OK – but I would recommend 751 (never used 551 so can’t comment).
Bearing in mind that BMW will charge around £100 for the KIT and estimate a 2.5 – 3.0 hour fitting at their normal rates…price is variable depending on how much you think they’ll pay!

haven’t done a Mini kit mate , but we make & fit a fair few ST stripes for Fiesta/Focus.
Charge £110+VAT to supply & fit stripes for over the roof, bonnet & rear. -
I feel that the 751 would conform far better than the 551.
