  • Can I hand paint an Aluminium Composite panel?

Need to match a tricky colour to a new sign panel and can’t get a good vinyl match anywhere. Priced printing vinyl to cover it, but is working out too expensive when factoring in laminate – has anyone ever tried hand painting (rollering) an a/c panel?
I know it’s not the ideal, but it’s going 22 foot up and will have stand off letters all over it…

We recently had a tricky colour to match and we wet sprayed it

Tray made using blackburns metal 0.3 skin sheets in white…flattened down with sander…

Be bought a RAL colour and some Matt lacquer. Made sure if yiur sign had multiple panels side by side you lay these all together and these are painted in one hit to ensure colour match

Have a look at the images attached

Thanks James, glad I’m not the only person thinking this way. My problem is I don’t have my own spraying facilities so would have to outsource and don’t think the price on the job would sustain it – hence trying to do it myself with paint.
Thanks anyway and your sign looks great by the way!
