  • Can I change PSD file for versacamm

Posted by Russ on 6 January 2006 at 20:22

Been given a logo on CD today it’s a PSD and need to output it on the versacamm. Is it possible to change the file so colorip can read it.

PSD is a Photshop file, if you don’t have it I could convert it for you…

Not really up on it myself Russ, but if you have the PSD file already just open it into Photoshop. Then save it in a format that your RIP accepts..

open the PSD with photoshop, then if you need to make the image bigger/smaller, go to image/image size (may be mistaken, going from memory), change the image size accordingly to roughly what you need, then File/Save as… as a bitmap.

That’s very very brief and possibly not very useful, but it’ll get you into colorip and back onto familier ground. I’m sure someone else will be able to elaborate more.

Photoshop is a powerful program if you know how to use it, but it can be daunting to start off (then again isn’t everything?). I’d look up tutorials on the internet and just play around with it instead of going to full works and buying books etc.

    good luck

i normally Open a PSD file in Photoshop then save out as Photoshop PDF… Do any scaling needed in the RIP software.

You might get some requests about Rastering Text layers and so forth.
