    Hello guys,

    Here’s one of many problems I’m having….

Got a PCUT the other day and being the amazing noob that I am I’ve only just figured out how to use it. All was going along smoothly until suddenly my blade has started cutting right through the vinyl and scratching the machine to bits! The blade is only 1mm protruding outside of the holder.

The software I’m using (which I don’t like at all, but it’s all I have) is WINPCSIGN.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

dont know about pcut, but the blade should not be protruding 1mm, 01mm is more the norm, hold it up to the light and adjust so you just catch the reflection.

    Thanks Peter!

Tried that and that seems to have worked a treat. 😀

simple problem and simple answer take the cutter out hold the lower knurl and loosen top one couple of turns 1 or 2 should be enough, tighten lower one. This will raise blade in holder so you can hardly see it and stop cutting through. Thicker vinyl will require deeper cut and cast being thinner a lighter cut.
Best to crank the blade right back until you cant see it and then take test cut (press pause button twice) blade should be cutting vinyl but not fully through, lower blade and try again. Continue doing this until you get through the vinyl but not the backing paper. If you cut too deep you will delaminate the backing which is a major nuisance especially I find for smaller letters.
What size cutter do you have?

    Thanks Michael,

    It’s 24" creation Pcut.

I’m having a few problems, but I think it’s because I’m trying to get the lettering far too small. It doesn’t seem to like that too much.

    Any tips on that?

10mm is about the smallest you would want to do, some plotters wil go down to 2.5mm, but only on paper to get consistant results.

Small stuff is better and cheaper, printed,

What size is the text your cutting? I rarely go smaller than 1/2" as I find weeding a pain and making sure you haven’t lost full stops and dots above the i is a pain.

When I am cutting really small txt I turn the speed right down to 10 on the Pcut so it tends not to try and weed itself!
