Came in to work this morning to find a nasty puddle on the floor next to my Soljet SC-500. Apart from the nuisance of having to clean it up, there’s no explanation why it’s happened. The machine was switched off and it’s only the first three cartridges (Bk, Cy, Mg) that have been affected. It’s been suggested that the machine may have been on uneven ground but it’s not been moved for a very long time. One reason could be that it’s not been used, as a printer, for over a month but I’m not convinced about that. I changed the pump about two months ago but that seemed ok.

Any ideas please? I don’t want to load new ink if it’s going to happen again 😥

Might be a silly question to you……but…..what make of carts are you using?
I ask this because i have recently had a similar problem with a different make of printer, turned out to be the carts leaking.

Rolands own brand. I’ve had a word with Roland today and they say the usual cause is if the machine isn’t level. They’ve told me to put a spirit level on it 😮

Sorry cannot help then, but i find that answer about it not being level as very unusual. Especially since you say it’s been in that position for some time.

hopefully leaving it that long you left it connected to the mains so it can do its periodical cleaning.
if you changed the pumps are you sure that the outlet pipes from the pumps are not squeezed tight so they are blocked or give us a clue as to where its coming from

    Hi
had this on my Rock Hopper. what happens is the ink syphons out cure was to fit a new capping station. Before a new capping station was fitted it was cleaned & new cartridges fitted but kept getting mixed colours. So a new capping station was fitted & it cured the problem 100 % as it was under warranty at the time a complete assembly with pump was fitted.

    Hi David

We have had the same problem about a year ago with our grenadier. Simply enough it just out that we had a dodgy batch of inks. something wrong with the nozzle where the cartridge releases the ink.

That’s what was wrong with mine.

I’m wondering if that was the problem with mine all along. I took the cover off and gave it a really good clean, bought some Roland cleaning cartridges and ran them through too. When I re-loaded the ink cartridges the Yellow line had air bubbles in it, then the ink ran out. The new cartridge ran through the line without any air and the test print was fine.

Thanks for all the advice guys :thanks2:
