Well, for starters this machine has given me nothing but grief ever since I bought it. The problem I have now is that it’s just not responding at all to anything.

I have winPcSign. It’s the only program I have and I’ve used it for lots of jobs. But the cutter itself has just always been a problem. Most times when I go to use it winpcsign just freezes and I have to unplug the usb cable and plug it back in again (a few times over and over) until the computer recognises the machine and then it stars to work.

    But not now. Oh no.

Now it just responds with a message of ‘USB device not recognised’ and there ain’t a damn thing I can do to make it recognised. Which is pretty bad news for me as I have a massive job that I need to do and I can’t do it until this machine decides it’s going to work.

I would just update the drivers, but it always says that I have the latest drivers. I would just uninstall the drivers and try to reinstall, but guess what? The drivers can’t be uninstalled from the ‘Add/remove programs’ list. It just flashes and stays there. So that’s out.

Basically I haven’t got a clue what to do. I haven’t got any ideas and my time is running out to finish the job that I’ve taken on. I don’t know about ports and coms and usb’s and serial ports. I just want this pain-in-the-neck machine to work for one last job and then I can get rid of it once and for all.

Can anyone out there who knows infinitely more than me please help? Forgive my brash post, I’m just incredibly fed up with this useless machine.

I have no idea. Where are you? Maybe another member could help get you out of the shite by doing a bit of cutting for you. If you were local to me, I’d help you.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but it is an every day occurance that the same old plotters simply won’t work.

We need a forum for equipment reviews and feedback.

Thanks very much for the reply, Andy.

Amazingly, after 2 days of trying and another 6 hours tonight, plus a post on here out of sheer desperation…………I’ve just fixed it.

I believe the problem comes from turning the power off at the mains (computer). The drivers just don’t work and the com ports stop recognising the machine. The main problem I had was that I just couldn’t uninstall the drivers to reinstall them. I eventually deleted the drivers with some weird little piece of software that I found about 20 minutes ago. I was then able, finally, to reinstall and now it’s working.

I hate the thing though! Can’t wait to upgrade. It may be a nice machine cost-wise, but I’ve come to the conclusion that if you want reliabilty then you’re just gonna have to fork out the extra dough.

Cheers again. I can now go to bed and get some sleep for the first time in 2 days!!!
