  • can anyone tell me why letters don’t close after cutting?

I have a p-cut 630 and I’m using flexi 7.6V2 pro, The problem I’m having is the cutter dosen’t close the lines making weeding a pain.
Larger characters aren’t bad but small stuff is where I notice the trouble.

Anyone know how to correct this?

Have a look through your manual for an "overcut" setting.

That should be it, by the way, how come your running a cheap plotter with expensive software? I would have used your software budget and bought a better plotter.

Yes Ian, I had my tongue firmly in my cheek. Apologies if I am wrong but why oh why do we keep helping people with pirated software!!

All you sign people on here have paid thousands of pounds for software only then to help out rip off merchant competitors.

with mine I set the sharp offset to 2mm using PLTDraw which I use to plot my corel files. This cured the problem. Only thing is there is no way to configure this on the cutter itself and is done through the software you use. I am not 100% sure how this works on Flexi…….. sure someone will be able to advise.

I too know this is an issue with pirated software – but it is the case in many trades. I see it almost every day in my profession.

As for the Creation Plotter comment……. could go on forever. If on a budget there is nothing wrong with it. Arguably there are better ones on the market, and I too may be looking to upgrade in the future…. but for the last 2 years it hasn’t let me down yet. They are a good piece of kit for the money, and you will probably find that many of the components inside are either the same or similar to those 10 times the price.

I too have the identical setup, and have the same problem…. Letters not closing.
Unfortunately I’m unable to find anything in the manual or F1 Help referring to "overcutting"
Any additional thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve since cured the problem by changing the blade offset to 0.0100in in Production Manager/Setup Properties
