can anyone tell me what alupanel lite is please?

John, europoint sold a lite version of the composite board in their range, can’t remember the name of it now but as well as being cheaper the ally skin on the lite version was thinner.

martins correct mate… europoint did a light version which was cheaper. as he says i think the alloy skin is thinner and i also think the colour range is limited. from memory andy gorman did a folded pan sign and the fold cracked or paint chipped due to the thinner skin.
its not just this range, i think there is light versions on other composite ranges but as stated there are drawbacks with limitations etc

not sure if its the same stuff but we had some of the light alupanel light from pyramid
unlike the usual alupanel if you lift full panel 8×4 flat of the lorry it keeps the arc created try and bend it back and you end up with corrugated sheet.
we tend to pay the extra and keep to the good stuff.

Alupanel do 3 grades; 0.18 single sided finish for hoarding, 0.21 double sided for flat panels and 0.3mm for folding.

In my opinion , use lightweight or Hoarding panlel when laminating onto and when its being supported by something , when its self supported or on poles etc use the heavy weight material.

The lightweight and hoarding are only available in white.

Have you seen wood and smoke mirror glass Dibond ?

I Know Robert Horne do, but can we order it through Europoint? at a competitive price?

No but as part of the RHG group now i was in a meeting with Alcan who were showing us the new grades, it does cost more but you pay for the R+D and Innovation.

just being non biased as it was a good looking product and if no-one else does it what are we comparing the price to?

Just a shame that europoint have lost a lot of customer confidence recently, I do hope europoint manage to regain it.

We’ve recently started to use Dibond and find it to be very pleasant material to work with. We’ve done normal signs as well as cut out signs with it and haven’t had any problems. We’ll probably have to do a more complex Dibond sign during next week, and once we’re done I’ll get back to you all and tell you how it went.
Ps. One of the downsides is that we only get it in white.
