    Hi all

Wondering if anyone could advice on a suitable screen ink for printing onto flexible lino .(ie the type you have in your kitchen floor etc) .?

What i’m wanting to print, is black grid of hexagons in for a board game idea i have . (I’m after a cheap way to print the boards and suddenly had the brain wave of using lino offcuts). I was looking at the ‘Inks for flexible and rigid PVC, ABS etc ‘ section on the appollocolours site . I was thinking of the Matt Vinyl?

I have only ever done water based textile printing so far, using a 2 colour home made press. How easy is it to use inks for plastics, and what are the main problems i will have?

    Cheers for any help

hi i would try what screenprinting inks you have in your workshop, even inks that are not even recommended for a certain substrate….it’s amazing what does work….also try adding rigid thinners too…really gives the ink a good grip let me know how you get on 😀

    just re-read your post….in a slower speed 😳

if you have never used vinyls before, the only advise i can offer….is make sure you have the correct thinners for the ink…too thin and the print will smudge…too thick and the ink goes stringy, correct screen count of the mesh is also another important issue, depending on how sharp you want the print…..good luck and keep us posted 😉
