  • can anyone remove banner vinyl from banners?

Hi All, hope you can help please.

One of my customers didn’t read his proof properly, and he had made a spelling mistake on the disc he gave me to make up a banner. Anyway, can you just remove banner vinyl from a banner in the usual way, bit of heat, peel off, then some tar and glue solvent, or does the glue solvent damage banner material.

    Any help as always appreciated

    Thanks

    Ali

Alistair – You should have no problem peeling the vinyl off and probably without heat – done it many times updating dates on banners anually, ive used rapid remover or whatever its called (from the peeps who make rapid prep) without problem.

We often remove banner vinyl, for example, for changing dates.

Remove it slowly and see if the glue remains. If so use a little heat to minimise this.

We remove glue with 3M Industrial Cleaner. This softens the glue but doesn’t affect the banner. It’s a great product.

i agree with john on this mate… should come off no probs. tar and glue will do the trick nicely should it leave glue. one thing though… once the glue is off after using tar and glue or any adhesive remover whip down properly with meths or the like before applying vinyl.
