  • can anyone recommend sign/graphics books?

Posted by Simon Mercer on 19 April 2008 at 20:38

    Hello All,
I am really enjoying producing graphics, most of it has been self taught, or from reading on here, apart from upgrading my cutter and deciding on software, are there any books and guides etc that you would recommend for me to read, I don’t want to go to the next level and end up going in with both feet first and it all goes way over my head…. up to now i have really only done basic word graphics etc, and some basic signs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Mastering layout by Mike Stevens is a great book to read.

Become a full member mate. You won’t need a book then! 😉 (That’s another 20 quid commission I’ve made)

It sounds like you need a beginners guide to sign making.

Here’s a book that may be of interest to you:-
    http://www.amazon.com/Vinyl-Sign-Techniques-Jim-Hingst/dp/0944094538/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1208645493&sr=1-1

Otherwise I would do as Karl has suggested and become a full member here which will empower you with much more information.

Or if you are patient enough – wait for the book I am currently writing called "How to set up and run your own sign making business" to come out 😕
