I got one myself 18 months ago.
I got it mostly to do presentations of jobs on-site and to work while im out of home i’ve pushed it a bit with Corel, Photoshop, etc.. and even played games with it, i use it everyday, i’ve been more than careless with it, and he stills very reliable, never had one single crash!!!!

Just never purchase one without knowing whats on the market and be very carefull with your needed specs as it’s much more expensive to upgrade a laptop than a desktop!!

PC World has its uses, but buying PC’s from them isn’t one of them. They badger you silly to get a warrenty on your machine, often the salesman will call a manager so you can explain why you don’t want the £300 extra warranty on a machine thats already costing you in excess of a grand! 👿

If by some quirk of fate someone from the PC World heirachy is reading this, quite simply “Sell the machine to the customer and don’t force them to buy warranties!!!!” 👿

PC World is brilliant for stuff like routers, printers, cables etc. but again, you can go down to your local computer shop and they let you have a ciggie in there while they’re putting everything together for you :lol1:

Why not buy a laptop second hand though? You can pick up really decent kit for next to nothing in places like the Loot. And at this time of year, the amount of unwanted xmas gifts etc, its silly season for laptops and the like.

Well everyone slaggin PC World they ain’t all that bad their OEM stuff in the brown boxes is competitivley priced just make sure you kow what you are buyig first get the specs I see a lot of advertisements for computers for £500 £600 qiud take a look inside em and u soon see why they are that price shared graphics minimum ram etc etc It will cost you a grand for a decent system.

Laptops may be good but they are always a compromise compared to a desktop they have to be o other option if you eed to hump it around get oe otherwise desktop every time.

I won’t argue with an of you about PC World. I just suggest you look at PC World Business. It’s a different web site, different pricing and some good special offers. e.g. Minolta 1300W colour laser at £139 + VAT. If you call the their sales guys you can also haggle the price down and collect from a branch.

Maybe the branches in Scotland are better? And a tad more choosy on whom they employ?

It is handy if you need something on a Sunday & nowhere else is open though 😀
