Can anyone recommend a place to get 100gsm poster paper?
Posted by Kate and Danny on 20 May 2005 at 11:14Hi all
Can anyone recommend a place to get 100gsm and better poster paper suitable for use with the Roland Versacamm. Preferrebly already cut into A1 sheets?
I have seen a few places selling it on the web, but prices seem to vary wildly!Kate. 🙂

Don’t know where you get your vinyl from but if it’s from Europoint Display give then a call, they will supply you with paper on the roll or cut to size. Don’t know what their prices are like as I don’t have a printer myself.

Kate, it is cheaper to buy a roll rather than A1 sheets. An A1 sheet will not print A1 in size either, as you have to make allowances for the rollers.
With paper, you get what you pay for in the results. A cheap paper will give an average result, and a dear paper will usually give the best results.
I use two types, 1 cheaper paper for the promotional posters, and one for the quality posters. I guess what I am trying to say is; don’t buy cheap paper if you want a real quality result 😮 I hope that makes sense.
Cheers

hi kate, dsi, (shane) is right… get some nice paper you get nice prints.
we bought two types, one was great while the other gave a very matt finish, seemed to almost absorb all the ink. anyway. like has been pay what you can afford as it will give better results.as martin has said, europoint display is part of one of the worlds biggest paper companies. paper co. ide guess they should be able to sort you with this but not 100% as i havent bought any yet, we dont use paper that often.
another good buy “i think” was some adhesive backed paper from grafityp, had a very nice finish too it and was difficult to tear which is a bonus… sorry i dont know much more about it but maybe give them a call also.

HI Nik, that was Chromomat you bought , were you using that on the VersaCamm ? good news if you were , in theory as its Low-solvent it should work on a sheet with a good coating but am not aware of anyone trying it.
ps thanks for the compliment -
quote Cammy:that was Chromomat you bought , were you using that on the VersaCamm ?
