    Hi
Don’t know if any one can help me with this problem.
I have a roland CAMM 1 cutter the cm 24 model, apx
7 years old. the pressure slider on the side is right to the max and will only cut the thinnest of materials. My question is – Is it stand alone unit, are they easy to replace, and where can i obtain such item.
Thanks in anticipation and a [c]Happy New Year.[/c]

I’m not familiar with your exact cutter, although we do have a Roland CM500.

On ours, the slider is only for very, very minor pressure adjustments, almost to the point where it is sometimes difficult to detect any difference. We need to go into the menus for any worthwhile adjustment.

are you sure the blade is in the holder properly?
if so… check the holder is in he cradle and slid right down and tightened.

i was advised to switch off and move the slider backwards and forwards a few times as dust etc can build up and give a false connection so you think your increasing the pressure but your not really !!
before restarting set on minimum again and increase as you would to set up just in case that is the problem
    hope this helps
i retired the std blade holder and went for smart blades only use std blade holder for thicker vinyls metalics etc
also has the cutting strip been checked
i am busy looking for a number i was given for Roland camm repairs
as i had a problem with mine it was the pinch roller handle solenoid was loose and i was ready to send it off for repair and a i was talked through the fault when i find it will post it here
although Walter Mathias are really help full as well speak to” harry”

    Thanks Lads and Lassies.
I have got it cutting OK , But still on top setting,
(very technical, I blew down the side of the slider control)
and cleaned/lubricated all the moving parts.
John mentioned adjusting settings within the menus.
Could you explain please John, I can only see Velocity
    setting!!
    I am running Signlab 4.95.
    Thanks Again.

😮 Velocity settings????????? how do i find these if i could slow my cutter down a bit it might stop dragging up delicate lettering lol (!)
My cutter once had a fit and its a bit speedy it sliced nearly 3m’s in half before i could reach over for the kill switch 😕

Alan, isn’t that slider just for pen plotting?
    Load vinyl
    Hit Menu
Arrow to the right 4 times to something that should say 160gf (or any other number) use the up arrow to make that number higher.
    Hit enter.
    Cut.
    Adjust.

    hi its john here.
………………………i have the same cutter.. i no exactly how to fix it.
i can even tell you what page in the manual to look in.
The dip switches. ther should be about 8 to 10 of them.
ONE is for the heavy duty material dip.. flick it one way and its light duty. (you must have it on light by mistake) when you flick it one to another…make shore the machine is turned of.
….and remember to turn the pressure adjustment down, for the new settings. or it will cut right through every thing…..the dip switches are right next to the pressure adjustment lever…..i have bumped mine before by mistake…..but don’t touch them if you don’t no witch one it is….
there is a few of them and every one is for a differnt thing.
