can anyone help with layout for fire engine please?
Hi all, got a customer who has recently purchased this fire engine for his Limo business and he wants it "dressing up"
Any ideas or sparks of inspiration??

It needs painted red for a start.

Tbh i`m not 100% sire of the current rules and regulations regarding “impersonating” a services vehicle but i can`t imagine them to be too strict.
Strippers run around in Police Officers uniforms etc so i imagine theres some scope. Theres also recent legislation allowing haulage firms to supply thier own “Escort Vehicle” for wide loads which can closely resembly high conspicuity police cars etc.
I`d google “UK Fire Engines” and have a look and get a general feel for how a Fire Engine should look form a distance. Then perhaps adapt it slightly so it isn`t an exact replica.
If i ordered a “Fire Engine” for a stag party and it turned up white, i`d be disappointed 🙂

First off I agree that it needs to be red.
Secondly, you need to do some research on fire truck lettering.
Here it is traditionally all done in gold leaf by hand.
The lettering is usually serifed with a black drop shadow,
and sometimes some really cool blends of gold and varnish shades.

I hope that the business has a catchy name (no pun intended)

I work as a retained Firefighter in Kent, our appliances are letered using standard printed / cut vinyl and reflective markings. No hand painted stuff 🙁

Should be red? 😮 Why? That engine is crying out to be bright pink with some huge colourful graphics on it! Its an unusual vehicle for a limo fleet to begin with, so humble opinion, I’d be making it ten times more unusual. Make the thing stand out like a politician in an Oxfam shop! :lol1:
Anyone insane enough to hire a fire engine for a stag do, or hen party, they’re going to want it to be a laugh at the very least. You could try tiger stripes, or even cover it in fake fur! 😀 Question the sanity of the owner, and see how far you can go. If he/she wants something that’ll grab the attention of your local area and beyond, suggest some wacky ideas and if he/she goes for it… well, you’ve got something that’ll be a PR coe for him and a portfolio show piece for you! 😀

Yep, looks like you’ve added a flourecent stripe and a couple of extra flames, it looks much the same as it did before but with big yellow stripey things 😕

Jill, blank image, appreciate any ideas, customer saw the initial design last night and said he thought it looked great, but no final decisions made yet, so give it a go, i know you like a challenge.

Red looks soo much better but then theres a grand`s worth of paintwork added to the price.

The purple stripe would be reflective.
I used old firetruck-style alphabets and emblems (except for the hen)

hehe nice one Jill. Can just picture you behind the wheel.
More i look at that fire Truck, the more i can`t help thinking what a great sign writers van it would make. Park it anywhere with the blue lights on, extendable ladder for the hard to reach places and a hose for shoving up the ar.ses of traffic wardens.

Oooh now it’s busier than a cat trying to cover shit on a marble floor with a wooden leg.
But I’m sure the client will love it, opt for the digi pix over the icky stix.
Yup, Avery makes purple reflective and also some purty sparkly lilac.
I used it on the Mars Fire Police van.
I didn’t put the limo pic on mine cuz it says Limousines,
seemed a bit redundant.
I’d still choose letterstyles a bit differently too.
