  • can anyone help with corel x3 problem please?

I am tired and slowly losing what patience I have left with my software/designs/printers tonight.

I did a design in x3. Consists of a vector from Istock, and some text. Nothing flash.

RIP’ed the file, went to print, and a few cm’s in, I realised I’d made a mistake with the outline colour. The other colours were perfect though, and I was well pleased with the overall result.

So, I opened the file up, changed the colour of the outline, re RIP’ed the file, and now the colours are all wrong. Instead of brown it prints maroon. I did nothing but change the outline.

I printed to both machines and the colours are wrong on both, so it must be either the RIP or Corel.

Looks perfect on the screen, but will not translate to the printers.

I’ve RIPed it as a CMYK, RGB, PDF, EPS…. I can’t imagine what I’ve changed to make such a difference.

Thing is, if I go back to the original ripped file in the queue, it prints perfectly..

I even re did the file from scratch, and it is still printing wrong.

Any ideas? I don’t expect it will be obvious, but wondering if anyone may have a clue?

    Cheers
    Shane

i also struggle with some istock vector files main reason is some objects have muliti layer gradient fills, you change a outline colour and the transparency of the fill alters 😥 so tend not to bother with the really flash looking ones.

    Hi shane,
I think chris has hit it on the head – gradient fills fine if they are created in illustrator and stay there but I have had similiar problems bringing them into corel one minor change and it all changes!!

    regards

    Thanks guys,

I’ll give that a try when I get to work.

I might try and print the vector straight from Istock before I make any changes 1st, see if it prints correctly as it did originally.

Then I’ll add my text etc

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
