can anyone help with a plotter problem please?
Hi.
My Gerber Fastrack 1000 is playing up and it’s driving me mad.
I run it from Signlab 7, but think it’s a plotter problem and not software.Every time i load a roll of vinyl and lower the pinch wheels to set it up, it immediately starts feeding about 20 metres of vinyl through and then stops. It doesn’t even let me send a job before it does this.
I have tried all i know, but to no avail.
Please can anyone help?

I don’t have a gerber,i have never even sen a gerber so this is a complete stab in the dark.
I have a Roland CX24, When i load the vinyl in it and begin to set it up i get three options. I can tell it i have inserted either 1. A Roll of vniyl. 2. A Piece of vinyl or 3. something else :).
If i tell it that i have inserted just a peice of vinyl it will scan the vinyl to both edges to determine the available width / length.
Maybe your plotter has this option too and it may have been activated by mistake therefore when you insert a roll it unwinds until it can find the other end.

Not sure about the 1000 model but is it not a Mutoh? Try their website for help

Make sure all the infra red sensors are clean!
Or have you altered a shuffle setting by mistake! -
Any chance somebody set the Origin to be Center.
if the Fasttrack is like the Mutoh Xp , you find Origin under General Settings. Make sure its on Lower Left and not CenterMake sure you are on Roll and not Cut Sheet.
Cut Sheet measures up to 5 meters to find the end of the sheet.If its on Roll, you specify the SHUFFLE distance under Initialisation/Shuffle
