    Hello all

I’m sorry for the off-topic but it’s the logical place to put my question, I think…
I just bought a pad printing machine and my problem is that the ink gets off if you scratch it with your finger nail. I have printed lighters, pens and other sort of pieces and it happens in all. The company that sold the machine just says to me "You must be doing something wrong" but that I already know. I have the ink, the solvent and the hardener. I’m using Ruco inks. As I taught that many screen printer companies also have pad printer I taught maybe you could help me. I’m sorry for the off-topic and feel free to remove the post if you wish.
    Every help will be appreciated.
    Thank you all

    JT

    Hi JT,
I also have a pad printer, you need to know what materials the lighters are made out of and get the appropriate ink for that application. I use polydyne ink from sericol for printing ice scrapers and torches but it would be no good for lighters and would scratch off. I think you would need a 2 pack ink or the lighters would need to be flame treated if possible.

Anyway – I normally screen print all my lighters

I’m supprised the guys at RUCO can’t help you.

    Hi John,
    Thanks you for your help.

code :I'm surprised the guys at RUCO can't help you.

Not the guys from Ruco, the ones that sold me the machine wont help.
I will send them a mail with ink reference and ask for their help 🙂
    Thank you

    Hi JT

Check that you are using the correct thinners for your ink and make sure the ink is the right consistency. It could be that the ink is drying too much before it is printed, this will prevent a proper bond to most plastics.

    Cheers
