  • can anyone help please with blade pressure on Pcut 630?

Posted by Goodwin on 18 April 2008 at 10:11

Hello. I have just bought a Pcut 630, installed on vista with little problems, came with signblazer (working fine) and winpc sign (not working on vista). Ive managed to cut a few small things but dont think i have the blade press right as when i try and do some bigger cuts the knife goes either too deep and jams on the vinyl pulling it to bits or just scores the top of the vinyl, any suggestions on press setting? Does the blade of the knife have to point in a certain direction? Its pointing forward at the moment, no guide in book.
The vinyl that came with it isnt totally flat but not bad, going to look for a cheap vinyl supplies to get this problem sorted, dont want to wreck good vinyl. When i do the system test cut the height and cut is perfect, so i have about 50 litte rectangle pieces! Any help would be good, sorry about layout of sort im on the mobile!

I’ve got a pcut 630 running on xp my pressure is set at 90 the tip of the blade rotates inside the holder so doesn’t need to point in any particular direction. Also check the cutting strip is even as when i got mine it was not pushed right in all the way so was an uneven cut.

    Hope this helps

    Phil.

Thanks for the reply, and from a fellow Welsh man too! Where you based? I wont be stepping on anyones toes as my cutting is for my wifes pet shop and vehicle.

I think I have my blade press set at around 120 at the moment! Anything less and it wasn’t cutting through to the backing.

I will check the cutting strip, Ive had success in cutting since posting the thread but not major, I have had it cut most of the image but it always seems to snag at some point!
Ive only been using the vinyl that came with the cutter at the moment so will buy some fresh and give it a go.

    Grateful for any further info/advice.

Llanfyllin in mid wales, where you from? when you say snag do you mean not joining when it finishes? if so check the blade offset in the settings is set correctly, i think its 0.3 on pcut’s, either that of the trackin is off.

Sounds like you need a new blade, or you have the blade in the pen holder. If so move back to the other hole (over the white cutting strip)

    you may well be correct.

but you need to look at the date when the question was first asked,
