    Hi,

could someone tell me how to stop *.AI files being given the *.PS file denomination when being downloaded…I’ve a feeling it’s been discussed in the past – but I can’t find it now? 🙁

    Mike,

    Pushy Yank isn’t she!?!?

I know some savvy computer nerds that have this issue as well, and to the best of my recollection, have never solved it. I hope to see an answer posted here as well. If someone does reveal that illusive combination to stop such behavior, I’ll be sure to “hard copy” it for future reference. Perhaps the “Dark” one can shed some insight? (slight pun intended with the “shed” remark)

(Don’t forget to tell Robert what I volunteered him to do next month)

    Jillbeans,

That’s an easy one, upgrade to Omega!! (Only kidding)

Do you have Corel PhotoPaint? If so, you may be better served by “capturing” the screen image of the Composer window and then “pasting” it into PP instead of “exporting” your design out of GA. GA does not have provisions for “saving” or “exporting” raster based images, so saving out as an .eps or .ai file is only step one. You then would need to take that file into another program (perhaps Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Freehand, or related) and hope that the design integrity hasn’t been breached. From there, then it’s off to save in a format for internet browsers. Way to easy for something to go wrong in this long, drawn out process. Much easier approach is to do the capture and paste directly into PhotoPaint, Photoshop, or similar and save directly from there.

And to “capture” the screen, all you need is one industrial strength index finger from your right hand to press the “Print Screen” button found at the top right area of most keyboards. I’ll give you a call sometime tomorrow to review this (and perhaps a little more). We can also review how to make sure these files are on a server so the world can see the work that happens in Butler/Mars, PA!!

    Robert,

Mike informed me about some plans he and Clare have in the future, and I ever so “graciously” volunteered you to take part in them.

He can fill you in with the details. Just remember, someday you can return the favor. 😉
