  • can anyone help me decide which logo to use?

Posted by magpie on December 22, 2003 at 1:15 pm

Just trying something a little bolder, but just a little worried its a bit ‘run of the mill’ and not very
different to hundreds of other signmakers vans.

    Your thoughts and comments appreciated.

    Thanks

Nice Peter, I like it ๐Ÿ™‚ As per usual (this wouldn’t be the same without it) a small suggestion that may make it even bolder ๐Ÿ˜€

The first of the two logos, why not try outlining the ‘signs’ bit with a black outline and increasing the shadow to incorporate the line also? Does that make any sense, I just reread it and I sound like I’ve been at the sherry ๐Ÿ™„

Anyway, IMHO I don’t think its ‘run of the mill’, it a big, bright and bold statement that’ll get you noticed. Is that the one for the van or??

    Cheers, Dewi

excuse my ignorance mate. i know there was a past post about your logo..
what was the idea behind the name victory v..
i was having a wee go at recreating something simular but then thought.. what was the reason/though/connection behind it with signs… obviously something you have to take into consideration when designing a logo.. doh ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

LOL, sympathise, I bought my little lad a remote control racing car, and I don’t think it was designed for a 5 year old… he’s whizzing it round the house, ramming everything in sight at about 40mph! ๐Ÿ˜• ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜†

I noticed the amount of people on earlier, very bizarre ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi all, I was in a pc free zone over christmas/newyear, so haven’t had chance to reply until now.
(my wife described the pc free zone along the lines of getting a life; huh!)

Rob, it’s all to do with V Signs – the most acceptable being churchills victory V sign.
In previous discussions I literally gave clients the V sign, as pointed out at the time
that stratergy was felt to be attention grabbing but dodgy. Also there were issues
    re: using Churchills likeness.

It could be the initial concept is too weak or has been diluted too far in this revision.

    Cheers

Nice variation thier Kev, its look classy and would lend itself to a 3D cutout type of sign similar to the ones Henry posted yesterday. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks again, I am using signlab 5 for my artwork. I think its great!
I have Corel & Photoshop but do not use them often, as I cannot print. So I donโ€™t have a real need at the moment.

    Hey Kev,
it’s great to see what a fresh pair of eyes can bring to a job.
Thanks for taking the time out to do it, it’s not a direction I
would have explored without your input.

Chris I’d be interested in more details on the Cal drop shadow
material you mentioned – who supplies it etc.

    Cheers

Ps Dewi I’m blanking you so you don’t get big headed mate ๐Ÿ˜‰

Peter, if my head increases in size any more than it has I’ll have trouble getting in and out of the shop, already having to have a door widened ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰
