  • can anyone help get my tools back in illustrator please?

    Hi all,

Trying to get to grips with illustrator. But all my tools on the left have dissappeared.

Any ideas how to retrieve them?

    Cheers

    Matt,

This is for a Mac, and a PC might be slightly different, but….

Window (from the top bar) > Tools. It toggles on and off.

    Thanks John,

But nothing there saying tools, i have attributes, info, type. But no tools!

Might just re-install and see how it goes from there?

    Hmmmmm.

There should be a long list of things there. About thirty items you can choose to display or hide.

Try going Window > Workspace > Default

    Guess what?

    Yep. No workspace tab.

Try just hitting the ‘Tab’ key on your keyboard.

Tools and other bits can be hidden by hitting this, so you may have done it by accident. The feature is used to give a better idea of how artwork etc. will look. I found out the hard way myself!

    Hope it works

So it does. Well, I never knew that! 😀

Though even with the tools hidden by the tab key I still have all the options visible in the Window menu, so maybe the problem is deeper rooted. 🙁
