Can anyone give me some reviews on the KPMF wrap vinyl, please?

We had a rep in our work today offering cut, cast and wrap at a keen price?
I have never used it before so I thought I could get some good advice and feedback from sign makers and vehicle wrappers who have used it already.

    Thanks

    Matt

I have not used KPMF for a few years now but the 700 series was very good in my opinion, the factory where its made is very close to me.

    Great…
Thank you, Simon. Which factory do you mean?

Ask the KPMF rep for some samples and try it for yourself.
There is no point saving a few pounds in money off of a roll of wrapping vinyl if you find it more difficult to work with! Most people will have a preference for a certain type of vinyl because they find it easier to work with themselves.

I am getting some KPMF Wrapping Vinyl samples today Martin.
It is the vehicle wrap material I was interested in mainly, as I have only ever tried Avery Supreme wrapping cast so far.

    Cheers

Do you mean the KPMF VWS wrap?
If so, that is pretty old hat these days.

Like Jon says, the KPMF VWS wrap material is not on a par with some of the other materials available in my opinion.
They set the standard in a way as theirs was the first that I am aware of but that was probably 10 years ago now.
From what I have been led to believe it hasn’t changed at all and is the same material and spec they were selling back then. If you have any experience of more up to date films you may well struggle to fit the KPMF VWS wrapping vinyl.
It might also explain why they are offering it to you at the price they are if it is much cheaper than other films available?

We have used the KPMF VWS vinyl wrapping range and I have mixed feelings about it.
The matt black (which is really more like satin) is not too bad to use and although not as quick to apply as using the likes of 3M and Hexis vehicle wrap, it goes on ok and doesn’t mark or go shiny as easily as full matt blacks. Also, the standard gloss range is ok but nothing special.
I would steer clear of the KPMF colour flip that they offer. We found it a real pain to apply as it goes matt really easily when stretched and/or heated and just results in a lot of wasted application time.
Personally, I prefer to just pay more for Hexis and have the installation done on time for that type of finish.

I guess a lot is down to how individuals find the materials, as one of our installers loves APA vehicle wrap vinyl and the rest of us will run a mile from it, each to their own. Get samples from KPMF suppliers and give it a whirl, nothing to lose.

    Ian.

Ok, I will take everything on board, thank you!

They are selling KPMF digital wrap and laminate which equates to 200 microns. which I personally think is extremely thick. I haven’t tried it yet though and like you say Ian… each to their own eh!

    Thanks all

The KPMF cast manufacturing plant is in Newport, South Wales in the United Kingdom.

They are exhibiting at Sign UK exhibition to introduce some of their new ranges, including the new vehicle wrapping films, and it wouldn’t be a sign show if they didn’t have a wrapping demo on their stand!
